2024 LCS Summer Playoffs Round Two

The first week of the 2024 LCS Summer Playoffs has concluded. Let’s recap the action from week one and see what we can expect during round two.

The first round of the loser’s bracket takes place today, while round two matches take place on Saturday and Sunday.

The first round of the loser’s bracket will be between Dignitas and NRG. Dignitas lost to 100 Thieves 3-0 during the first round, while NRG lost to FlyQuest 3-1 in round one.

The two teams met just a three weeks ago during week six of the regular season. Dignitas won that matchup 2-0. Will we see a repeat of that this time around? I don’t think so. Though I’m going to predict Dignitas wins the series 3-1 and eliminates NRG from the playoffs.

The first matchup of the second round sees top seed Team Liquid go against 100 Thieves. Team Liquid had a bye in round one, while 100 Thieves swept Dignitas 3-0. Team Liquid swept 100 Thieves during their week two regular season matchup. I’m predicting Liquid wins 3-1 this time around.

The final matchup of the weekend is Cloud9 vs FlyQuest. This is the rematch of week eight that saw Cloud9 defeat FlyQuest to earn the second playoff bye. FlyQuest defeated NRG last week to earn this rematch. I’m predicting a closer series than the 2-0 from week eight. I’m taking Cloud9 3-1.
