Junior OVERSCORE of the Classics. Hezley Rivera fell 3 times and got an 11.550 and they still gave her a 5.5 start value. Senior OVERSCORE of the Classics. It’s a tie. Jade on beam (or course) and Jordan on beam. No video. I have a migraine.

I just sat through all the routines from Session 2 and per usual, the Olympians were judged with different eyes than everyone else. I didn’t see any future stars but I was impressed with Amelia Disidore who looked better than I have seen her in a while. She should be great in College. My favorite Floor routine was from Tiana Sumanasekera. She has a messy pass but overall this was the best routine. Others liked Kaliya Lincoln on Floor but while she has great tumbling and some pretty leaps the actual routine itself was kind of walked through. My favorite beam routinewas from, Dulcy Caylor. The only routine that wasn’t cookie-cutter. I also liked her Floor routine. She has messy form but overall you could tell she put in an effort and I enjoyed watching someone try and be original.
Did we ever find out if Nastia was fired from NBC? If she quit? Just went away? Dissipated?

The Return of Simone Biles! She won the last camp by 3 points and threw her crazy vault so it looks like her coaches learned nothing about the mind games they used that turned her mind into mush in 2021. It got to her in 2021 because Suni was pushing her. We all saw the writing on the wall as they say. You could just see Suni coming into her own as the year went on and Simone fell apart when she realized one fall might actually mean she had to hit to win. It will be interesting to see if Simone goes full-on egomaniac, Goat in 2024 like she did in 2020/21. Using “The goat” on her leotards. The TV show titled, Simone versus herself. Will that version psych herself out again, or does she now realize, gymnastics is not her entire life and win or lose, she is still “The Goat”The BBS did a blog on her starts values from 2021 in this code and she actually gained start value on Floor (She lost 4 tenths on Bars and Vault but everyone lost start values on Vault. She lost 4 tenths on Beam but gained 2 on Floor. Nothing has changed. If she hits she cannot be beaten. But will she hit?
The return of Suni Lee! [Training Videos] There is no guarantee she will be doing AA anytime soon with her kidney issues or any guarantee at all that she will be healthy enough to be a factor in a year. She’s the Olympic Champ and with that, she should be smart enough to know that she has nothing to prove in 2023. I hope she doesn’t push it and cause any further damage in a year that doesn’t matter.
Joscelyn Roberson versus Jade Carey! [ Joscelyn Cheng and training videos] Jade Carey will do what Jade Carey does. She will coast to the World Championships team by watering down her routines during the actual Classics, Nationals, and World Trials and going full speed when it matters. For some reason, she is afforded this free pass every year and no one else is, but this year Joscelyn Roberson has gone overseas and won a bunch of medals. She has upgraded to a Cheng. Say what you will about Simone’s coaches they like to push the envelope. In the end, it won’t matter. Jade is the golden child and Joscelyn has even worse form than Jade on Bars and Beam. Even if they are used as a specialist (to add with a Suni Bars and beam specialist) The judges overscoring of Jade Carey on bars and beam will be the downfall of anything Joc can come up with.
Shiles Jones is out! [Training Video ] [Training video 2]Of Classics. IMO, Smart girl. This meet means NOTHING in 2023. Hopefully, it’s not an injury. She is the gymnast with the best chance of cutting into the former olympian 2024 Olympic team we will most likely be seeing come next year.
Konnor McClain!The National Champ! [Training Video] Honestly, I think it’s time to stick a fork in her. She is going to LSU early and training Elite. Not sure she has it in her to succeed at both with how injury prone she is. I am calling her Morgan Hurd Part 2, but we will see. She has a lot of talent, but putting it together is not her strong suit.
THE DARK HORSE! Skye Blakely: [Training Video] All Skye needed at the last camp competition was a 14 on the Floor to be one point behind Simone Biles. That is huge. Now she just needs to put it all together when it matters. The good news for my girl Skye is she has been trending up for the last few years. Peaking at the right time?
LEANNE WONG NEEDS TO BE ON THE 2024 OLYMPIC TEAM! And much like usual Leanne is barely mentioned. Not highlighted in any training video from the above youtubers to follow if you’re a gymnastics fan And she’s training with her college coaches which surprisingly isn’t a plus when you consider it’s Florida. Jordan Chiles? She’s training but…. Kayla DiCello?…. Zoe Miller on bars?
