11/18/14: Catching up on news

We have some days to fill before we start back up, so here are some Central and Midwest region stories I have been sitting on while regionals played out.

• St. Norbert coach Bethani Thibodeau resigned after receiving a promotion at her full-time employer. A search for her replacement is underway.

• Top-ranked Maranatha suffered its first two NCCAA losses at the D II national tourney and was ousted in the quarterfinals. Kentucky Christian won the NCCAA D II title.

• Maranatha junior outside Stacy Reinke and sophomore opposite Alison Renz were named NCCAA D II First-Team All-Americans by the AVCA. Sabercats’ senior setter Pam Borchardt was named to the Second Team.

Updated (11/20/14 @ 5:30 p.m.): Natalie Dietz was named the new head coach at North Park. Dietz was most recently the interim coach and a grad assistant at NPU.
