Director: Eric Red

Starring: Famke Janssen, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pare

After Marnie Watson kills her abusive husband in self-defense, she is condemned to house arrest… only to discover that the house is possessed by the enraged and violent spirit of her dead husband.

Having killed her abusive husband, Marnie (Famke Janssen) is released to house arrest. She is escourted by police officer Shanks (Bobby Cannavale), who was her husband’s partner, and he therefore has little respect for Marnie.

However, Shanks doesn’t know the full story, and the film tells us the story in a rather frightening manner. I mean, this film dishes up truly creepy and scary scenes I never expected. The film is foreboding with highly effective jump scares. The house is spooky, and there are visuals that will make you cringe!

The fact Marnie wears an ankle bracelet preventing her from moving more than 100 feet away from the detector, enhances the suspense. ‘100 Feet’ is one of those films that just gets better and better as it progresses, with a few twists thrown in as well. The film kept surprising me with interesting reveals.

Famke Janssen gives a wonderful performance as Marnie. ‘100 Feet’ is a mix of ‘Poltergeist’, ‘Paranormal Activity’ and haunted house films. It is entertaining and darn scary!

Would I watch it again? Yes.
